It started out with me watering the yard... but little kids kept running through the hose... so we decided to hook it up to the splash pad! Finley, Harley, Noah and Levi splashed and played until they were about to drop.. they slept good that night!

We colored/decorated eggs, went on an egg hunt, attended church, and ate lots of good food. We even had a confetti egg fight. We had a great time and miss all of you already!

We took the boys to Nederland for the Heritage Festival. There was a parade where they threw lots of candy. This was Noah's first parade and he was so excited to have so much Candy just thrown at him.. Then we went to ride rides at the festival. He had so much fun but hated to get off each ride when it ended.

Noah's Big Boy Bed !

After many restless nights we decided to move Noah into a big boy bed. For many nights Noah would come crawl in our bed and take over by laying sideways, diagonal, on top of us, kicking us, or just waking up and wanting everyone to get up with him at 3am.. This is when we realized he must be waking himself up when he tosses and turns in his little toddler bed. The Dr. advised us to go ahead and try a big boy bed. He loves it and to our surprise he has slept through the night and even longer in the mornings in his new bed!!

Mark and I had a friend watch the boys and we went on a date. He took me to a really nice restaurant called Siena. It was a beautiful restaurant with a very Tuscan feel.

This is the interior... We sat upstairs right by the window in the picture. It was beautiful. We had a three course meal that was very delicious. We had oysters, caviar, steaks, and chocolate for dessert. As we left they gave me a single rose ...

Grampy and Nana came to visit this weekend. We had a great visit and lots of good food.
We took a trip to Driftwood for dinner at the SaltLick. The food was amazing and the drive was an adventure to remember.. haha

The boys watched Superbowl at home so us girls decided to sneak out and have some sushi and a drink or two at the local Sushi bar. We laughed, sang a songs (Oscar Mayer Weiner) and I think I snorted a few times from laughing so hard. It was a great girls night out!

Thanks for coming to see us Grampy and Nana. We will miss yall and hope to see you soon!

Our 3rd Wedding Anniversary

Our 3rd Wedding Anniversary has been the best so far. Each year Mark and I fall in love more and more. Our family has grown and so does our love. I am so honored to have Mark as my husband and so we celebrated this day by going to dinner at a fancy restaurant in Lakeway on the hilltop. It was called Mizu steakhouse and sushi restaurant. Some pictures are below...

These are my beautiful flowers from my wonderful husband.

After dinner we went back to Vintage Villas where the wedding was held. We sat on the lawn where the guest sat and looked out at the hill country view and lake. We had lots of desserts and a toast of champagne to mark the occassion. It was a beautiful night but a little cold. We cuddled under some blankets and tried to recall events on that special day. We shared laughs and a few kisses then headed home to kiss our kids good night. What a great celebration!

Barney Live!

Noah and his girlfriend Finley went to see Barney. We had great seats and had so much fun. They shared popcorn, snowcones, and kettlecorn. This was Noah's first Live show so he was a little nervous. He watched the show with large eyes but really did not want to sing or dance with them. I think he was a little overwhelmed and at times distracted but he did have a great time.

Last night Noah said those three little words that just made my heart melt. He gave me a hug and said " I love you." Now, yes, I did ask him to say it BUT he never has said it before... However, this morning he came into my room crawled in bed and hugged me.. then he leaned back and looked at me with a big smile on his face and ALL ON HIS OWN he said those words again... " I LOVE YOU" ahhhh.... if he asked for a car I think I would buy him one.. I wish I could get it on tape so you all could hear him.. trust me I will keep trying.

October 12, 2010 - A Changing Day In Our Lives
I had 3 aneursyms burst on this Tuesday night. I was rushed to the emergency room by EMS not knowing what was wrong. I had severe neck pains and a horrible headache. So many pains, dizziness, and confusion were all happening at the same time and it became sickening. At the hospital they sedated me with nasuea medicine and ran Cat Scans. The Drs. returned saying they did not know what was the cause so the released me. I spent the next two days in bed in the worst pain ever. Once I became sick again throwing up my MD advised me to return to the hospital. They performed a spinal tap due to the pain in my neck and found extremely high pressure and blood in the spine. The neurosurgeon said it was an aneursyms and it was missed on the previous Cat Scan. He said it was a miracle I was alive and made it through the past few days. He performed an emergency crainiotomy on me the following morning to clamp the aneursyms. This surgery should have been 4 hours but it took 10. The surgeon who is known for his work throughout the nation and the best for this procedure said it was the hardest he had ever performed. He as a non believer also said that it was a procedure that made him believe in a higher power. It was truly the work of GOD that I survived not only the burst but the surgery and then through recovery. I am blessed to say that I will make a full recovery.
The Drs. believe that the aneursyms are cured and are the result from a car wreck I was in back in college. This was a surprise to hear but it also explains a lot. I had a lot of questions about some memory loss I was experiencing right after the wreck. The Drs. said the aneursyms would be the cause of some of the changes I experienced at that time.

Thank you to all that supported and prayed for me during this time. It means so much to me. I am happy to be back home with my family and we have a lot to be blessed for this Christmas!

He ate pizza and played games. Auntie Michelle came to celebrate with us too!

We invited a few of the neighbor friends over to the house for cupcakes and juice.
We had a splash pad, pool, bounce house, horse shoes, and soccer all set up outside. And we watched movies and played with toys inside to cool off. He got a lot of toys and the theme was "Cars" from the Disney movie The Cars.

Then we went to the fairgrounds. This smile you see on my face here stayed the whole time. I had so much fun.

This was my favorite ride. I laughed and giggled the whole time!

Until the ride stopped then my smile turned to tears quickly. I was very sad the ride was over and wanted to go again.. ( He cried all the way back to the car.) He had a great time though and cant wait to go again next year.

Levi Nathan Calhoun Arrives !!!

Levi was scheduled to arrive on March 2nd by C-section. However on Feb 25 my water broke and Levi decided to come early. We rushed to the hospital and above is me getting ready for his delivery.

2 More Weeks Till Levi Arrives

My big Ole Belly two weeks before he arrives! If not sooner...
We went to the Dr. last Thursday and I am dilated to a 2.5 and 80% efaced. So we are all packed and on standby incase Levi decides to come early.

ALL BABY!!

This is phase 1 of Levi's room. April, the muralist, came and drew the outlines on Friday and will return on Monday to finish up the mural. There will be clouds, lots of trees/bushes/ drivers and shading still to be added. I will post a final version next week when I get the room all together. I spent last week sewing the window treatments and hanging them..... Almost complete!

Let me read the sweet card. The card had a voice recording of Grandma and Grandpa wishing me a Happy Valentine' s Day! I read/listen to this card over and over again! I almost forgot to open the rest of the gift..

And I got this Talking Teddy Bear. When you push the foot you can say "I love you" and it will talk back to me. I don't know how to say I love you yet but my mommy would say it and I would giggle when the teddy bear talked back to her. I do know how to push the button over and over again and the bear will say "hello and goodbye"

Sorry Sesame Street was on too so he was slightly distracted... haha

This is right after he came out from surgery. He did not understand the feeling from the anesthesia so it upset him. He cried and screamed until it wore off.. Then the first words were "cookie," and of course we gave him as many as he wanted..

This was him before surgery... Tired but wanting to touch and pull on everything. Sorry there are not many more pictures but it was only about 30 mins long. He got to wear his pajamas and they just walked him back to the room and then walked him back to us.. so there was not much to take pictures of..

The surgery went really well. They placed tubes in both ears and it should keep him from getting anymore ear infections. We are going back to the Dr. today for a check up and hearing test so I will keep yall posted on the update.

Christmas at our house! The whole tree has lights but if you look closely (if you can) it is only decorated from about 4feet and up... Little hands kept pulling things off!

This was a few days before Xmas. Noah received a big box in the mail from Grandma and Grandpa. After we took the bag of goodies out of the box Noah had lots of fun playing in the box and throwing the peanuts everywhere.... No need for presents just a box of peanuts..haha

ahhh. so the goodies are in here! We only let him open the clothes this day and waited until Christmas to open the toys.

This is Christmas Morning! Yummy Breakfast with Pepaw... bananas and pears..

This is the first sight of the gifts.. he was not sure what was going on... I tried to start opening a box and he did not want to help so he squatted down and watched me do the work. He was very excited though and oooh and awed..

WOW!! Big Boys First 4 Wheeler. It is battery powered and will run by pushing a button on the handle bars. This was tooo funny. He knows how to hold on and push the button and he takes off down the room or hall until he runs into something. He does not know how to turn the handle bars to avoid crashes... probably better for outside! Plus he already wants to do tricks.. He is wearing his hunting hat from Pepaw... ready for the deer lease!

Halloween '09

Happy Halloween! Noah dressed up as Cookie Monster (so he thinks... he was actually a three eyed monster). He would walk around saying "cookie" in all kinds of different voices. It was really cute. I am sorry I do not have good pictures from Halloween but Noah would not stand still at all. All of my pictures turned out blurred and these are the only ones I had that you could even make out anything. Plus some pics of the house to show how we decorated. Noah did not go house to house but he stayed out with us and passed candy out to the neighbors until he passed out. He was so tired!

The Calhoun Family is proud to say we are expecting another little boy!

I am currently 18weeks pregnant (starting my 5th month). His expected due date is March 7, 2010. We do not have a name picked out yet. We were waiting for this appointment before we started to pick names. If you have suggestions we are always open to them...

I know Ultrasound Pictures can be a little hard to see and determine.. With the first picture noted "its a boy." Picture says all...

Morris MN - Below

This is my Great Grandma's Farm in Morris, MN. She was born and raised across the street and when she was married she moved here and has lived here her whole life. It is so beautiful here and you can see land for miles. Lots of corn rows and soy bean fields.... see me playing and touching it all!!

It was like an early Xmas. A big box arrived in the mail full of goodies for Noah.
We are planning a trip to MN next week and Noah needed some warm clothes. So his Grandma and Grandpa sent a very generous gift full of winter clothes, pajamas, and a Halloween costume. Noah loved climing in the box and pulling everything out.. Thank you so much Grandma and Grandpa!!

Noah Gets Sick

My poor little baby! He started off with an ear infection and a cold/virus. This lasted about a week and he was put on an antibiotic. Then about 7 days into the antibiotic he has an allergic reaction to the medicine and broke out into hives. These too lasted about a week. They were itchy, red and swollen, and he looked like a monster.. haha poor thing. Since we had to get off the antibiotic the virus came back and flared another ear infection. In total he was sick for about 2.5 weeks.

If you stay at home sick you have to help with the chores..

Noah watched Rawley several times go in and out and I guess he decided to try it out himself. However he got stuck halfway through. We were on the inside and could not get him back through. We would knock and he would try to look up at us but he started to get mad. We had to open the door with him in it and pull him out from the outside. He has not tried it since...

We had a few of our friends meet for dinner on Mark's birthday.
It was extremely hot!! I think it was about 98 outside and the sun was directly on us.. That shimmer/glimmer is actually sweet on our faces.. haha but we had a great time being with everyone!

Hey Cupcake moved into our neighborhood... it is a wonderfully small cupcake shop that has the best cupcakes... very rich.. we decided to all try one.. This is Noah's first cupcake.

I had to break it up in pieces and he was not sure what to make of it at first.. new textures...

But I think he came around to enjoying it...

Mimi and Pepaw took Noah to the zoo. Mark and I had to go out of town for a weekend and Noah was spoiled all weekend with Mimi and Pepaw. They took a day trip to the zoo and Noah was able to see all the animals.

Summer Splash!

Summer is Here... so I decided to introduce cold water on a hot day to Noah. As you can see it did not go over well the first time.. (poor little boy.. it was funny though) We had to turn the water down before he would attempt to go near it again. Then Austin, his neighbor friend, joined him on the fun and they laughed and splashed for a few minutes then they both kept crawling off the pad to eat the grass... I think we will upgrade to the pool next time.

Introduction to McDonalds !

Noah and I got in town late last night and realized there was no food in the house. Instead of going to the store or cooking something I decided to try out McDonalds ! I think it was a hit! haha He would hold a french fri in one hand and a nugget in the other and just take turns taking bites. He was in heaven! He kept looking at me and doing this excited strain look (in the picture above) so I had to capture it all for you to see.

Noah's Petting Zoo !

Calhoun Family Day!!! We went to the Pecan Festival in downtown Austin yesterday. It was a beautiful hot Texas day. They had music, arts and crafts, food, and a petting zoo. We walked up and down 6th streets and saw all kinds of "interesting" people and things. Noah was so excited when he saw the animals! They let him in free too because he is so cute and it was his first zoo! We did not let him feed the animals because he wanted to eat the food himself... so daddy did the feeding..

Noah's First Hair Cut !!

Today I took Noah to his first haircut. He was sporting a mullet when we arrived so it was time.
He picked the airplane to sit in and they played cartoons on the tv. He was so good he pretended to fly and played with the steering wheel the whole time. I tried to take pictures but Noah was not in the mood to smile for the camera. Off camera he kept smiling but on camera he kept sticking his tongue out at us...

Noah Learning to Walk

Noah got a new walker toy. He holds on to the end (as in above) and pushes the cart out till he makes a bridge shape then takes steps towards it... It is like watching a old person walk with a walker (no offense). He will be walking on his own soon !!!

OOPS lost control... sometimes the walker slips out too far too fast..

Auntie Michelle Calhoun Comes to Visit!

Aunt Michelle came to visit and brought Noah a tambourine!

She flew in town for the weekend and spent some quality time with the family. She was even asked to babysit little Noah for several hours on Saturday. They played and had a great time together and Noah misses her already!

Easter Day - Egg Hunt

Happy Easter! Noah had his first Easter Egg Hunt.
He crawled to the first egg and picked it up and put it in his basket.
Then he played with that egg and did not really pick up anymore.
PePaw picked up lots of eggs for him and he ate some of the candy too...
It was a little chilly out that morning. So he still wore his Easter outfit but had to wear
a hat and blanket at times too.

After the Easter Egg Hunt we meet up with a good friend of Mark's and his family,
Matt and Cathy Johnson. They have two children a little boy and a little girl. Lola is in the picture above.. It was great to see them again. Noah loves seeing people his own size..

Noah got a new wagon for Easter from his Mimi and Pepaw.
We went for our first stroll around the block and he loved it. He smiled the whole trip.

Today Cristian, our friend/neighbor, and I took the boys on a playdate to the park so they could swing. It was Noah's first time to swing. He loved it and laughed the whole time. Austin is 7.5months old and Noah is 8.5 months old.
